Would have helped to know what training you've been doing... A workout you can do that will give you an idea of what you can run is 10 repeat 400m resting however long it takes to run the 400m. For example, running one in 1:45 and resting 1:45. It is said whatever you can average on the 400's in minutes and seconds is what you can run the half in hours and minutes (in this example you could run a half in 1:45). What you might do is try the workout once this week to get an idea of what the workout feels like (you might start doing them too fast or too slow if you haven't done a workout like this before) and averaging your 400 times and your rest, get an idea of what you can do them in and repeat the workout next week. Good luck!

how many miles a day for half marathon training?
i run 6 to 10 miles on varied ground 5 days a week.i am 59 with a resting heart beat of 48.doing 10 minute miles.am i doing enough

You are certainly doing enough to finish a half marathon, so if that is all you care about then yes, you are doing enough. But if you want to finish and finish fast then you will need to add a day of speed work and increase your long run.
Speed work should be either a tempo run at or around your goal pace for 5 to 6 miles. Add another 2 miles easy to that for warm-up and cool down.
Your long run needs to be at least 13, but you should stretch it to 17 or 18.
If the course is going to be hilly then you will definitely want to throw a hill session in there too.
Your other runs should be easy runs. Easy enough so that you have the energy required to complete your long and speed run.
You may find that doing a longer run and a speed session will drain you. You are clearly fit (your current mileage and resting heart rate indicate that), but at 59 years old you may find that you can only beef up the intensity if you take an extra day off each week.
My schedule for next week's 1/2 training...
Day 1 - 7M easy
Day 2 - 7M speed work, X-train
Day 3 - X-train
Day 4 - 8M medium to hard pace, lite X-train
Day 5 - Lite X-train
Day 6 - 17M easy to medium pace
Day 7 - Rest or walk.

how should i start training for a half marathon?
i have ran the marathon super run for 6 years in a row. and they are very easy for me. 3.0 miles i have ran the relay once and it seemed fine, it wasn't to easy but wasn't to hard. 5.70 miles and im thinking of running the half marathon this year. its still 6 months away... i know that's long away but i want to start training early. what would be the best way to train?

Runners world has a good 9 week program. But I can't really describe a plan that would be for 6 months. All I can say is to start out small. Why don't you find a 5K plan and then continue on to a 10K plan and then to a half marathon plan. Be sure to plan out timing so you have about 2 weeks extra time with the plans. I always like to have a little extra time because then if something comes up and your week of running didn't turn out the way you plan or something happens then you can do the week over. I really like to have the plans all set because I can't really make excuses for myself. I tell myself that I have to finish the day of running and it is already set of how many miles to run instead of just going out there and running and in your head saying well... 2 miles is enough for today. Also, BREAKS. You need atleast 2 rest days during the week. I used to run 5 miles a day and it got me no where. I never ran faster or anything because I gave myself no time to build up my muscles and recover. I then did the 10K plan on runnersworld.com and now I am doing the ultimate half marathon plan on runnersworld.com It is so much better. I love it!!! And strongly recommend it. I have gained up endurance and these plans are made by the pros!
Good luck!!!

What advice can you give me in training for a half marathon?
I want to run a half-marathon in January (I live in AZ). I've never done any type of marathon before. I bought some awesome running shoes and started running about 30 mins a day, 5 days a week, inside and outside. Still doing my regular weight training 3 days a week (light weights). What advice or tips can you give me to help me train to be in the best shape possible by then.

You should check out the advice at Active.com -- they have a comprehensive section just for running tips, training methods, articles, and even message boards to ask experienced runners your questions along the way. I think you will find it to be a valuable resource on your way to accomplishing your half-marathon goal! Good luck :)
